Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth Headset Goes Up for Pre-Orders at Rs. 899

While Xiaomi’s Redmi 4 India launch is just around the corner, the company has now made its Mi Bluetooth Headset available for pre-orders in the country at Rs. 899. The new headset from Xiaomi weighs just 6.5 grams and has been made available in only Black colour for the country. The headset will be shipped within 5 days of pre-order as per company’s website. Notably, the product seems to have gone out of stock already but might be made available again by the company soon.

Xiaomi’s Mi Bluetooth Headset allows users to accept or end phone calls, reject calls, redial phone numbers, transfer calls, make three-way calls, play or pause music, play next/previous song, and adjust volume. The headset comes with a ceramic antenna, rounded sound cavity, a Bluetooth chip, magnetised moving coil speaker, and a noise-cancelling silicone microphone. “To optimise sound quality for calls and music, we kept the speaker output structure at a narrow 3mm, so that detail in the mid and high frequencies are preserved and noise is significantly reduced,” the Xiaomi says on its website.

Notably, the headset is capable of pairing with two devices simultaneously.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4 Price Revealed, Comes in 49, 55, and 65-Inch Screen Sizes

Xiaomi on Thursday finally announced the availability of Mi TV 4, touted as the company’s thinnest TV to date, in its homeland.

Initially showcased at the CES 2017, Xiaomi’s all-new Mi TV 4 will be coming in three screen sizes including 49, 55, and 65-inches. At the CES unveiling, the company hadn’t revealed pricing. It has now.

All the Mi TV 4 models will be going on sale from June 1, and will be available via the company’s Mi Store. The 49-inch Mi TV 4 has been priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 33,000), 55-inch Mi TV 4 priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 38,000), and 65-inch Mi TV 4 priced at CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs. 95,000).

The Mi TV 4 range sports a frameless design, and comes with integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. The models support Dolby Atmos audio technology with 2 up-firing speakers for what the company claims can offer “an immersive 3D sound experience.”

The Mi TV 4 also comes with a modular TV design which means it can be upgraded in future. The new model features a single cable connection dubbed Mi Port which can connect Mi TV Bar to the display. Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4 models also come with ‘transparent’ stand which makes Mi TV 4 look suspended in the air even without mounted on the wall.

Apart from design, Xiaomi has also added its AI (artificial intelligence) based recommendations UI called PatchWall to the Mi TV 4. The PatchWall, a UI layer on top of the Android OS, is based on deep learning AI technology.

All Mi TV 4 models feature Samsung or LG 4K display panels. It comes with Cortex-A53 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with Mali-T830 image processor.

Priced at CNY 149 (roughly Rs. 1,500), the new Xiaomi Mi Band 2 packs a host of improvements over its predecessor including an all-new Oled screen and the much-requested heart rate sensor. To recall, the original Mi Band was unveiled back in 2014 and was priced at $13 (roughly Rs. 790). Unfortunately, the company has so far not revealed the international availability details of the Mi Band 2 wearable.

The new Mi Band 2, similar to other existing wearable devices in the market, focuses on user’s health by helping them track their fitness and sleeping routine. The new band features Bluetooth wireless connectivity to pair with smartphones. Much like the original Mi Band, the new band vibrates to alert users about incoming calls, alarms, and notifications.
One of the biggest additions to the new Mi Band 2 is the 0.42-inch OLED display which will show time, steps taken, and heart rate count among others. Another notable addition is the PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor as a heart rate monitor. The new Mi Band 2 packs a 70mAh battery which the company claims up to 20 days of standby time. The first generation Mi Band which featured no display had a battery life of up to 30 days.

The new Mi Band 2 wearable supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE for pairing with the smartphone. It comes with 40.3mm length, a width of 15.7mm, and a side width of 10.5mm. The company listing says that the Mi Band 2 weighs just 7 grams. For user comfort, the Mi Band 2 is built of skin-friendly thermoplastic elastomers material and flaunts aluminium as well. Much like the original Mi Band, the new band will be available in Black, Blue, Green, and Orange colours. The device is water resistant with IP67 certification.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 will be compatible with devices running Android 4.4 and above as well as iOS 7.0 and above.
