Xiaomi Mi TV 4 Price Revealed, Comes in 49, 55, and 65-Inch Screen SizesOne of the biggest highlight of the Mi TV 4 is it measures just 4.9mm and is claimed to be 30 percent thinner than the iPhone 7. The Mi TV 4 range sports a frameless design, and comes with integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. The models support Dolby Atmos audio technology with 2 up-firing speakers for what the company claims can offer “an immersive 3D sound experience.”

The Mi TV 4 also comes with a modular TV design which means it can be upgraded in future. The new model features a single cable connection dubbed Mi Port which can connect Mi TV Bar to the display. Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4 models also come with ‘transparent’ stand which makes Mi TV 4 look suspended in the air even without mounted on the wall.

Apart from design, Xiaomi has also added its AI (artificial intelligence) based recommendations UI called PatchWall to the Mi TV 4. The PatchWall, a UI layer on top of the Android OS, is based on deep learning AI technology.

Apple to Launch 3 iPad Models in Q2 2017; No New iPad mini: Report

A new report by KGI Securities’ analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, claims Apple will be launching three new tablets in the second quarter of 2017. Significantly, the note to investors contains no mention of the iPad mini, leading one to believe that Apple is either killing the lineup or will have a new model to unveil later this year.

Kuo has an excellent track record for predicting Apple plans, based on supplier information. The analyst claims that the Cupertino giant will launch an updated version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, while also introducing a new iPad Pro model with a new design featuring narrow bezels and a screen size between 10 and 10.5 inches. Alongside, Apple is also tipped to launch a more affordable 9.7-inch iPad that will be the “low-priced option” in its lineup.

The new 12.9-inch and 10-10.5-inch iPad Pro are said to ship with an Apple A10X SoC – an upgraded version of the Apple A10 SoC found in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – made by TSMC. As for the new, low-priced 9.7-inch iPad, Apple will reportedly use the Apple A9 SoC that was used in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, and will be made by Samsung.

Apple to Launch 3 iPad Models in Q2 2017; No New iPad mini: ReportThe analyst adds that a 10 percent drop in shipments can be expected this year, down to 35-37 million units, but that would still be less than what the company experienced in 2016 – where it saw a 20 percent fall year-on-year.

The reason for the smaller drop in shipments, Kuo claims, is that the 10-10.5-inch iPad Pro is expected to see substantial demand from the enterprise demographic, while the 9.7-inch offering should see good demand – and is expected to account for 50-60 percent of the shipments. Apple can also be expected to generate good revenues from its tablet range in part due to a “a better ASP thanks to improved product mix on decreasing exposure to iPad mini will likely offset the shipment decline.”

To recall, Apple launched the 9.7-inch iPad Pro back in March last year, and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and iPad mini 4 in September 2015. The company was expected to refresh its iPad lineup at its September launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, however, that did not happen.

OWC DEC USB-C Dock Adds Missing Ports to the 2016 MacBook Pro

Image result for OWC DEC USB-C Dock Adds Missing Ports to the 2016 MacBook ProApple’s breathless quest for thinner and lighter devices has left a lot of ports in the dust. That’s why it’s not entirely surprising to see weird accessories such as Belkin’s iPhone 7 adapter and now, OWC’s DEC USB-C dock for the new MacBook Pro laptops.

If you don’t mind using a bulkier, heavier laptop, then you might consider attaching OWC’s DEC dock to your MacBook Pro. At the moment, even OWC’s product page doesn’t appear to have much information about the dock, other than photos and that it’s “coming soon”. Unsurprisingly the dock makes the MacBook Pro look rather ugly.

OWC, which started operations in India recently, offers after-market upgrades for several Apple products and has been in business for over 25 years. An Apple Insider report claims that the DEC dock will offer 4TB of storage, three USB 3 Type-A ports (seen in most pen drives and USB devices you use today), a Gigabit Ethernet port, and an SD card slot as well.
The report says that OWC has claimed that the DEC dock sits flush against the 2016 MacBook Pro and doesn’t jut out on the sides. OWC has also claimed, according to the report, that with the dock attached, your 2016 MacBook Pro will be as thick as the 2012 MacBook Pro. At the moment all we know is that this is set to ship sometime in 2017.

If you care about looks, this product is definitely not going to appeal to you. However, if functionality is paramount then this might be a good bet. If this dock offers extra battery life to the 2016 MacBook Pro, this could appeal to many more people. However, based on the limited information we have right now, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
