State Bank of India or SBI conducts Bank Exam for the various posts like PO, SO, Clerk. This year, 2017, SBI has released 2313 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer. The selection procedure for the PO is in three steps. The first step is the SBI PO Prelims exam. The candidates who are able to qualify in the prelims are allowed to appear for the SBI PO Mains exam which is the second step. The last step is the Interview round in which only those candidates who have cleared the Mains exam are allowed.
This article is focused on the tips for the preparation of reasoning part for the SBI PO Prelims 2017. The reasoning section is one of the trickiest ones in any competitive exam. It is also a scoring section which means if a candidate is able to score good in Reasoning then he/she will be able to clear the Prelims exam.
The Reasoning Ability part has a lot of topics involved in it. The candidate needs to go through them thoroughly and practice as much as question papers they can and also the previous years’ question papers too.
Guide through the important topics in Reasoning-
Blood Relation: This topic contains questions that are used to test the candidate’s skills in solving critical puzzles. These include questions that are quite long and test the mental ability of a candidate. In order to solve tough problems use a kind of family tree that will make it easier to understand. The number of questions that are included in this section are 5.
Syllogism: It is also one of the important topics that are included in the Reasoning section. The questions in syllogism are actually based on some assumptions that are provided in the questions and they are related to a conclusion. The need is to find out whether the given conclusion is true or not, based upon the assumptions that are made.
Venn- Diagrams: Venn Diagrams are those diagrams that are used to represent the sets of maths or various logics. These questions aim at showing some relationship between the given objects or items in a group. The total number of Venn Diagram questions in the SBI PO Prelims is 5.
Coding- Decoding: The total number of questions that come in SBI POPrelims under this topic is 10 in number. Questions like these comprise of a code that the candidate needs to decode or vice versa. It checks the candidate’s problem solving ability in mathematics by providing some logical thinking too.
Seating Arrangement: In these questions there are some positions given to objects or persons that are needed to be re- arranged or put in order and also in some questions they might ask the position of the object or so. The total number of questions that may come in the SBI PO Prelims is expected to be 15. There are 2 kinds of seating arrangement questions namely Circular and Linear Seating Arrangement.
